What is Trauma Informed Yoga & how can it help you? Trauma happens in our body when we experience events that are too overwhelming for us. At some point in our lives we will all experience trauma & the natural responses our body responds to trauma with. In some cases, where the natural responses are interrupted, trauma can be held in the body & later become symptoms of Trauma. This may look like 'disorders' known to us as 'PTSD', 'Anxiety', 'Depression' amongst many others or show up as medically unexplained pain, Chronic Disease, Burnout or Emotional and Physical Stress. Trauma Informed Yoga is an informed approach towards understanding the impact of trauma on the mind and body. By adapting yoga into a trauma informed way, we can learn to re-stabilize internal responses to allow for the natural healing processes to begin. I'll work with you on a 1:1 basis to tailor this approach to you at your pace to help you find safety in your body & stabilize your nervous system. Working on a 1:1 basis our sessions will aim to stabilise, process & integrate techniques and the understanding of your own internal responses. Allowing you to befriend your nervous system & bring safety back to you. You can request to book a 1:1 Trauma Informed Yoga session, for new clients an intake session will be required to discuss your needs and to ensure suitability. Upon acceptance of your intake form, a recommended amount of sessions will be advised.
All private sessions are non-refundable. If you are no longer able to make the scheduled session, you may rearrange the date of your session if within 48 hours of the booked session.
