Spring Mothers Day Watercolour Workshop

With Helen Worthington | Sat 22nd Mar | 1pm

Event Details

Join local Watercolour & Acrylic Artist, Helen Worthington for an experimental watercolour workshop. Since 2005, Helen has concentrated on producing spectacular artworks in a variety of media - acrylics, watercolour, line and wash, pastels, mixed media and, more recently, oil paints. Constantly renewing her interest in different forms of painting and subject matter has always been a driving force for her art projects to date. Helen describes herself as a ‘self-learning’ artist and is delighted to share her knowledge through workshops with you here at the studio. If you’d like the opportunity to paint beautiful, semi-abstract, floral designs in loose and pretty watercolour tones, this is perfect for you! The fun of watercolours is that it can be used to create lovely flowing forms and colours, and this will be harnessed to compose some floral paintings that celebrate the joy of Spring. These would also make unique and beautiful Mother’s Day gifts if you wished. There’ll be plenty of practice with the paints, brushes and various techniques, and then you’ll be helped to paint your very own floral picture. Experience Level: Beginners to Intermediate. (Some experience of watercolours may be helpful, for example, if you’ve been on the ‘Watercolour Experience’ Workshop, but full instruction will be given to everyone during the session). Please don’t forget to bring something with you to carry your project home in – a small lidded tray or box will be fine.
